Kid Rock had a meltdown and stormed off stage in the middle of a performance because the audience wasn’t clapping along to his performance.

The controversial musician, 54, made a surprise appearance at JBJ’s Nashville, a bar and music venue owned by Jon Bon Jovi, on Saturday for a birthday celebration in honor of the latter’s band’s keyboardist, David Bryan.

When Rock took the stage to join Bryan, he was met with applause, according to a video taken by an audience member.

About a minute into a rendition of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s 1969 hit “Proud Mary” alongside a female vocalist, Rock began to clap his hands together and encouraged the crowd to do the same.

Based on a viral social media video of the ordeal, not many people followed along, which prompted him to blurt out into the mic, “No, f–k them! F–k them!”

“Hey, hey, stop, stop!” he instructed everyone who was on stage with him.

“If you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing! That’s how it’s gonna work!” he scolded those in attendance, who quickly began to cheer.

Before the music picked back up, Rock once again began clapping his hands together to inspire the patrons to keep it up.

“Don’t get too fast,” he demanded as he began to sing again.

However, the clapping died down after a while, at which point he stopped the show again.

“You know what? F–k y’all. You ain’t gonna clap? I’m gone!” he shouted before he stormed off the stage.

Reps for Rock did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Despite the fiasco, Bryan still seemed to enjoy his night, as he later took to Instagram to gush, “THANK YOU FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES! Rocking at @jbjsnash last night with @bigkennytv!”
