Brittney Griner has exciting news—she’s officially a part of the Atlanta Dream WNBA basketball team!

Last week, WNBA superstar posted sweet photos of herself and her son, Bash, wearing matching Atlanta Dream jerseys to announce the big move.

In her caption, she wrote, “Next stop loading,” signaling the start of a new chapter for her and her family.

Griner later shared more photos from her “life lately”, featuring her favorite two people—her son and wife, Cherelle.

Reflecting on her decision to join the Atlanta Dream, Griner said in a press release,

“Atlanta felt like home the moment I started thinking about this next chapter. “What led me here was the team, the players, and most importantly, my family. I’m excited to be part of this city, to connect with the community, and help elevate this team into championship contention.”

 Brittney Griner is widely regarded as one of the most accomplished players in the history of the WNBA. With ten All-Star selections, three Olympic Gold Medals, and a 2014 WNBA Championship to her name, her skills and leadership will undoubtedly make a significant impact on the Atlanta Dream.

General Manager Dan Padover expressed excitement about the signing, saying, “Brittney is the perfect fit for this team, this organization and this city. She brings Hall of Fame talent, championship presence and leadership to our organization. This is a monumental moment for our franchise.”

In addition to her basketball career, Griner’s personal life also hit a monumental milestone last year. She and Cherelle welcomed their son, Bash, on July 8, 2024, and introduced him to the world in November with a series of family photos.

“Family shoots have become a team effort. It’s a series of smiles, tears, feedings and naps,” Cherelle told CBS Mornings at the time. “We love every second and can’t wait to take our first Christmas pictures as a family.”
