Aggravated Assault suspect arrested in Richmond County

Update | February 13, 11:48 am – Per the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, Mayhue Hopgood has been located and arrested.

AUGUSTA, Ga. () – The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating a man wanted for several alleged crimes.

18-year-old Mayhue Hopgood is wanted for Aggravated Assault, Criminal Attempt Armed Robbery, and Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime.

According to reports, the incident happened January 14th. Hopgood allegedly hit a man in the head with a gun who was trying to break up a fight.

Hopgood is known to frequent The Pointe Apartments on Southgate Drive in Augusta.

Anyone that comes in contact with Mayhue Hopgood and/or has any information as to his whereabouts is asked to contact the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office at 706-821-1258 or 706-821-1020.
