Travis Kelce and Patrick Mahomes shared an emotional moment on the sidelines after their devastating Super Bowl 2025 loss.
The NFL posted a new video Wednesday that showed the two athletes hugging after the Kansas City Chiefs lost to the Philadelphia Eagles last weekend. The Eagles crushed the Chiefs, 40-22, during the NFL championship game held at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.
āLove you brother,ā Mahomes told Kelce while going in for a hug.
Kelce, 35, patted Mahomes, 29, on the back and told him, āForever dog, you know that. I love you, man. I owe you, man. I owe you a lot for this one.ā
After the Eagles won, Kelce and Mahomes briefly walked on the field to congratulate some of the Eagles players before they stoically headed to the locker room.
Kelce was later seen looking somber while venturing to girlfriend Taylor Swift and his familyās VIP suite after changing back into his ā70s inspired pre-game outfit.
The Super Bowl seemed to be an emotional one for Kelce, as he reportedly cried while giving a speech to his teammates before the big game.
āTravis cried, but he cried last year,ā sports reporter James Palmer claimed sources told him on Wednesdayās episode of āUp & Adam.ā
Palmer shared the message while discussing speculation that the three-time Super Bowl Champion will hang up his Chiefs jersey and retire this year.
āMy gut tells me this is it,ā a source told Palmer about Kelceās career.
āBut he hasnāt said anything in either direction to anybody here and we know he loves coming to work, we know heās really enjoyed being here in the building.ā
Kelce has not shared his plans for the future, but he acknowledged that āeverybody wants to know whether or not [heās] playing next yearā during Wednesdayās episode of his āNew Heightsā podcast.
āRight now, Iām just kicking everything down the road. ⦠Iām not making any crazy decisions, but right now, the biggest thing is just being there for my teammates and being there for my coaches, understanding that thereās a lot goes into this thing,ā he said.
āI owe it to my teammates that if I do come back then itās going to be something that is a wholehearted decision; Iām not half-assing it,ā he concluded.
In the meantime, sources told Page Six that Swift, 35, is comforting Kelce over the loss, and they are āgoing to take some time away to vacation with just the two of them.ā
