Jubilant Philadelphia Eagles stars have received a heroes’ welcome in the city with more than a million fans on the streets for their Super Bowl parade.

The Eagles, who destroyed the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s NFL showpiece, are celebrating back home with their adoring supporters on Friday after capturing the franchise’s second Super Bowl out in New Orleans.

Quarterback sensation Jalen Hurts could be seen puffing on a cigar as he and his teammates set off on the parade, which will conclude with a ceremony on the famous Rocky steps outside the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

A replay of the win over the Chiefs will be shown on large screens nearby. The parade itself will start near the South Philadelphia stadium, proceed up Broad Street to City Hall and then west on to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the art museum.

Team owner Jeffrey Lurie is also on the bus with Philadelphia stars on Friday, with the American businessman seen holding the Vince Lombardi Trophy aloft when the parade got underway at around 11am.

The Eagles cruised to victory in New Orleans on Sunday night, with Hurts inspiring the win after producing one of the finest displays of his career.

On a night which saw opposite number Patrick Mahomes sacked six times while throwing two interceptions, the Philadelphia quarterback stole the show with 221 yards and two touchdowns.

Hurts also rushed for 72 yards and two touchdowns as Nick Sirianni’s team dismantled the now-former back-to-back champions.

Hours before their Super Bowl parade got underway, Eagles fans wasted no time poking fun at Mahomes after his nightmare in New Orleans.

The Philly faithful brutally taunted Mahomes by bringing out a hog roast made to resemble the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback.

The cooked pig could be seen with his No. 15 jersey number carved into its side, while a wig resembling his curly haircut was also placed on its head.

Eagles safety CJ Gardner-Johnson, who has controversially sparked a feud with Travis Kelce after Sunday’s game, was also spotted wearing a T-shirt containing an insulting message about Taylor Swift fans.

A few days after taunting Kelce about his ex-girlfriend Kayla Nicole, Gardner-Johnson wore a shirt with the message: ‘Swifties can LIX my balls’.

LIX are the roman numerals for the number 59, which was the number of the recent Super Bowl the Eagles won.

He first threw shade on Swift and her boyfriend after the Super Bowl victory by sharing a picture of him squaring up to the tight end and captioning it: ‘Should’ve Stayed with that thick s****’. It was interpreted as a reference Kelce’s ex Nicole.

The Philadelphia faithful have taken to the streets en masse to serenade their beloved Eagles, with several of them seen perched on top of street poles to get a better glimpse of the bus on its way through.

Eagles players and staff plan to descend the Rocky steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art at around 2pm for a 75-minute ceremony, city leaders said at a Tuesday press conference.

A replay of their win over the Chiefs will be shown on large screens nearby. The parade itself started at 11am near the South Philadelphia stadium and wo;; proceed up Broad Street to City Hall and then west on to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway to the art museum.

Within minutes of the Eagles’ victory on Sunday night, the City of Brotherly Love was illuminated in Kelly Green – and the occasional firework – as fans toasted their second Super Bowl triumph.

Philadelphia became a riot of celebrations as an estimated 10,000 people took over the city’s famous Broad Street by jumping on top of cars, climbing on dump trucks and bus shelters, and scaling traffic-light poles.

And running back sensation Saquon Barkley, who celebrated his birthday as well as the Super Bowl win on Sunday, told DailyMail.com that he was expecting similarly wild scenes on Friday.

‘Philly fans have been super amazing all-year round. Just the love and support that they have for this team,’ Barkley gushed when asked about his debut parade on Thursday.

The 28-year-old, who was working a ‘shift’ for Raising Cane’s serving his fanbase on the outskirts of the city, added: ‘The city truly buys into this team. I’m expecting it to be a blast, a party.’
