Jennifer Garner reportedly helped Ben Affleck through his divorce from Jennifer Lopez. Affleck frequently visited Garner’s home before and during the divorce proceedings. During the 2024 holiday season, the movie star spent Thanksgiving and Christmas with Garner and their three kids. While their children are likely happy to frequently have the family together, body language expert Inbaal Honigman with Casino.org said Affleck “gains more from his friendship” with Garner than she does from him.
“When Jennifer walks alone or with one of her children, her strong, long strides convey confidence,” Honigman noticed. “She’s self-assured and in no rush to find a husband. Her expression is often bright and positive, with her gaze focused straight ahead.”
Honigman said that a recent photo of Garner and Affleck shows Garner “visibly stressed.”
“As they wait together in hoodies, her arms are tightly laced in front of her, which is known as a protective gesture,” the expert continued. “Her lips are pressed thin, signaling tension. His presence is clearly affecting her.”
Honigman added that Garner displays “subtle tension in her body language” when with Affleck. “[S]he appears much happier when alone,” she continued. “In contrast, Ben seems more relaxed, confident, and at ease with her than when on his own.”
“At a Thanksgiving charity event, Ben leaned toward Jennifer, a clear sign that he draws confidence from her presence and enjoys being around her,” Honigman continued.
While Garner “smiles genuinely” with Affleck, “her hands and objects covering her torso suggest she can’t fully relax in his presence.”
The exes are ‘leaning on each other more than ever,’ a source says
Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck have a special bond that their divorce couldn’t remove. An insider told Page Six that Affleck’s recent divorce finalization and the Los Angeles wildfires have given them reason to band together.
“Particularly since Ben’s divorce from Jennifer [Lopez] and with the LA fires and everything going on,” the exes “have found themselves leaning on each other more than ever,” the insider alleged. The source added that Garner and Affleck “are closer than they’ve ever been since their divorce.”
“They really do have a close bond,” the source continued, adding that the exes feel “grateful” for their amazing friendship.
“Things between Ben and Jen were understandably rocky for a little while when they first divorced,” they continued. “They shared custody and were amicable when it came to situations involving their kids, but over the years, they’ve really built a close friendship and are on the same page in a lot of ways.”
John Miller allegedly doesn’t care that Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck spend time together
Several reports suggest Jennifer Garner’s boyfriend, John Miller, is agitated by the amount of time that Garner spends with Ben Affleck. However, an insider told Us Weekly that this isn’t the case. According to the source, “Everything is fine with John and Jen. Those close to them haven’t heard of any issues.”
“[Miller] spends a lot of time [at her house],” the insider continued. “He sometimes even drives Jen to set in the morning.”
A source told Life & Style in September 2024 that Miller felt slightly intimidated by Affleck and Garner’s close post-divorce friendship.
“Privately, he has been known to find it a little bit intimidating that she’s still so close to Ben,” the source alleged, “especially when he’s reminded about their red-hot connection back in the day.”
