PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — A business owner at the center of a Better Call Behnken investigation that started in 2019 is in jail again after failing to show up at a pretrial hearing.
Keith Lisenko, owner of S&K Wholesale Tile, is accused of collecting money and not delivering. He is charged with scheme to defraud.
You may recall Lisenko from August 2019. When questioned by Better Call Behnken, he claimed his materials, including some customers’ tile, was confiscated in a court eviction case.
His other rationale for the delay was that the state froze his bank account over a sales tax dispute.
Then, two years later, in 2021, the Better Call Behnken phone line lit up again with new, angry customers.
This time, we found the shop closed and tile debris abandoned.
Flash forward to April 2022 when the state attorney’s office filed scheme to defraud charges.
And now court records show Lisenko missed a pretrial hearing, so he’s been arrested again. This time, records show his request to be released was denied.
“I really think, finally, he’s getting what he deserves,” customer Jessica Fabian said, adding that the justice system is moving slowly in this case.
“We’ve probably gotten letters of six, seven, maybe eight pre-trial hearings,” she said. “I had no idea people went through that many pre-trial hearings. It makes me not be surprised how slow our justice system (is) if that is the normal route.”
