Witnesses told 9News they watched on in horror after hearing loud gunshots in broad daylight.

No one was injured in the shooting.

Three men left the scene before police arrived and found bullet holes in nearby cars.

The Audi was found abandoned and on fire a 30-minute drive away on Windarra Street in Narwee.

Investigators say the group responsible for the shooting then jumped into another getaway car that was parked there in preparation for the shooting.

Detectives are treating the incident as a failed gangland hit and investigations are continuing.
