They spoke about their relationship, which was clearly a mutual admiration society.

Trump explained how impressed he was with what Musk did to save lives in North Carolina with Starlink, and the amazing things he’s done, such as the ability SpaceX has to receive rockets back on earth.

The president joked how the DOGE team of geniuses dresses worse than Elon, in t-shirts. But it’s tough to buffalo them when they come in asking questions because they have 180-point IQs

Trump’s high praise for Elon? “He gets it done.” And that truly describes how Elon goes into ventures and makes it happen–which is why he’s so great for this position.

Elon, for his part, showed he had a great deal of affection for Trump. I think he was quite disturbed at how unfair media and others are to him.

“I love the president. I just want to be clear about that. I think President Trump is a good man. The president has been so unfairly attacked in the media. It’s truly outrageous. And I’ve, at this point, spent a lot of time with the president, and not once have I seen him do something that was mean or cruel or wrong. Not once.”

Trump shot down the effort by the media to divide them.

Elon said they were looking to get the astronauts back from the International Space Station in about four weeks. Trump was incredulous that Joe Biden had left them there for so long, when they were only supposed to be there for a short time.

Trump joked he was looking for someone smarter, but he couldn’t find anyone smarter, so he settled on Elon.

Musk mocked Trump Derangement Syndrome, saying he used to be adored by the left, until his support for Trump killed it.

Musk joked the TDS sufferers behaved like they were “shot with a dart in the jugular that contained methamphetamine and rabies.”

Then they broke down the important work they are doing together, and how important it is. Musk said he was basically “tech support” for Trump, to help ensure that his executive orders would be carried out, like to stop paying millions for luxury hotels for illegal aliens.

Trump said they were finding some incredible things with DOGE, like people continuing to be paid after whatever service they were supposed to have provided was long past.

Trump shot down any idea that the American people’s Social Security or Medicaid will be touched.

Elon responded to all the criticism that the Democrats were trying to level and said they must be over the target against the “unelected bureaucracy” — that they are the unelected ones trying to supplant the will of the president. He said this was flailing, as they tried to restore the will of the people. This was pretty brilliant.

Trump and Musk said the people accusing them of violating the Constitution were themselves projecting.

This was perhaps the funniest moment, where they showed how much fun they have, as they joke about Elon going to Mars.
