SPD makes arrest in shooting on East 50th St.

SAVANNAH, Ga. () — The Savannah Police Department arrested Jemond Burke, 18, in connection with a February 18, 2025, shooting in the 2000 block of East 50th Street.

Police were dispatched to the scene at 9:27 p.m. following reports of a shooting. Officers discovered a male juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. The juvenile was treated
and transported to Memorial Health University Medical Center.

While still on the scene detectives received a report that Burke had arrived at Memorial
hospital also suffering from a gunshot wound. After an initial investigation, detectives charged
Burke with aggravated assault, armed robbery and possession of a firearm during the
commission of a crime.
