PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) — Pinellas Park police arrested a teenage girl on child pornography possession charges, according to a Thursday press release.

According to the Pinellas Park Police Department, investigators got a tip about the 16-year-old suspect sending child pornography and “self-generated images” for money.

Investigators said the illegal images were sent over several social media platforms.

When police searched the teenager’s home, they found several electronic devices — specifically “three that were kept hidden for her nefarious actions,” according to detectives.

“At the Pinellas Park Police Department, our top priority is protecting the most vulnerable in our community,” Chief Adam Geissenberger said. “Today’s arrest demonstrates our unwavering commitment to holding individuals accountable for possessing illegal materials that exploit and harm others, no matter the violators’ age. We will continue to pursue justice and ensure that those who commit such crimes are located and arrested.”
