BUSES have been burnt to dust in Israel in a suspected “terror attack” after multiple bombs exploded within minutes of each other and more explosives were found in coaches, reports claim.
Three buses exploded in a parking lot in Bat Yam, with fears looming that the series of blasts is a coordinated attempted attack.
Three explosions in two separate parking lots have been reported in Bat Yam and Holon.
Two more explosives have been disabled elsewhere.
All five explosive devices, however, had timer devices – and were all intended to happen simultaneously, according to Channel 12.
Cops were called to the scenes and are trying to track down possible suspects, Ynet reports.
According to security sources who spoke to Channel 12, it was intended to be a “strategic terrorist attack”.
Searches are being conducted on additional buses in Dan Bloc – where the two unexploded devices were found.
The devices are estimated to weigh around 5kg.
Initial investigations suggest the explosions occurred within a mere few minutes of each other, with the final being 10 minutes after.
No casualties have been reported.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced around two hours after initial reports emerged of the explosion that the leader is “receiving regular updates from his military secretary on the explosive device incident in the Dan bloc, and will shortly conduct a security situation assessment”.
