A Georgia man allegedly shot one of his employees in the parking lot of a McDonald’s restaurant after the two had an argument about work.
Michael Allen Todd, 40, did not resist arrest when Gwinnett County Police officers responded to the scene in Lawrenceville on Feb. 19. Todd was charged with several felonies, including malice murder and felony murder after his coworker Donald Stewart, 43, was pronounced dead. Police said in a statement posted to Facebook that Todd was Stewart’s boss, and the two had an argument about work.
While the altercation between the two men took place at a McDonald’s, police made it clear that neither one of them worked there, nor was the fight about the restaurant. Information about their employment was not made public.
Police responded to a call at about noon on Feb. 19 that reported someone being shot at the McDonald’s location on Sugarloaf Parkway. When police arrived, they found Stewart with a gunshot wound. He was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Todd remained at the scene and was reportedly cooperative while he was questioned by officers and eventually arrested.
The nature of the argument, beyond it being related to their place of employment, was not provided. Police stated that the shooting was an isolated incident and there were no other suspects.
Todd was booked into the Gwinnett County Jail where he is being held without bond. He was charged with two counts of aggravated assault, one count of malice murder, one count of felony murder, and one count of possession of a firearm during commission.
