HASKELL, Okla. (KFOR) — A young Haskell girl is going viral after a video displayed her locked outside her foster home, begging to be let inside during a recent round of dangerously low temperatures.

According to Rhet Wike, the video was taken on Tuesday, and it appears to show a young Oklahoma child only wearing pajamas and no shoes outside her home, begging to be let inside.

Wike says he immediately contacted 911 after hearing the little girl beg to go inside and noted the child was outside for at least 10 minutes.

In addition, he says he heard the child’s foster father tell her she needed to “stop whining” before he would allow her to go inside.

The Oklahoma State Department of Human Services (OKDHS) says they are aware of the situation:

“The safety and wellbeing of our state’s children, particularly those in foster care, are top priorities for Oklahoma Human Services. We are aware of this situation but are unable to offer additional details at this time. However, we want to reassure the public all safety concerns related to this situation are being addressed.”
