1st annual SWVA Fallen Heroes Golf Tournament to honor late Deputy Hunter Reedy

BRISTOL, Va. (WJHL) — The 1st annual Southwest Virginia Fallen Heros golf tournament will be held on April 12, the Smyth County Sheriff’s Office announced in a social media post on Thursday.

The golf tournament will honor 85 fallen officers, including Deputy Hunter Reedy, who was killed in an August 2024 shooting and Corporal Christopher Kent Paschal, who died after injuries sustained in a car crash in 2009.

The tournament’s proceeds will benefit the Southwest Academy Training Foundation, which supports local training, resources, and programs for law enforcement, the post said.
