3 dead after shooting outside Louisville driver's license office

An LMPD spokesperson said the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, however there is no public safety threat.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD) is investigating after a triple shooting outside a regional driver’s licensing office in Valley Station. 

According to police, the shooting happened around noon Friday in the 6200 block of Willismore Drive near Dixie Highway.

When police arrived, one man was found dead. Two women were found on scene with critical injuries, however they died after arriving at a local hospital. 

Witnesses told police the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle, however LMPD says there is no threat to public safety. 

Maj. Donald Boeckman said the investigation remains ongoing and is still in its very early stages.

“It’s absolutely a tragedy and I’m surprised that there wasn’t more people injured because many people were standing outside,” he added.

WHAS11 has sent a crew to the scene to learn more. The public is advised to avoid the area.
