We’re officially breaking out of the pods on Love Is Blind Season 8! In this episode of the reality TV episode, the newly engaged couples pack their bags and head to a romantic getaway in Honduras.
Before then, however, a tough conversation needs to be had. Last episode, Taylor accused Daniel of having seen her before the experiment — and knowing what she looked like the entire time they were in the pods.
Taylor Puts Daniel To The Test
We immediately pick up with Taylor and Daniel, who says that he “100 % does not remember” following her on Instagram before the experiment began. Taylor thinks she can catch him in the lie, saying that she has an app that shows who’s followed and unfollowed her in the past. Daniel swears he’s being honest:
I’d be the s******* of people if I went through that whole thing knowing what you looked like and not telling anybody. And I hope you know I’m not that person… I promise you.
Things get so bad that production offers to give Taylor her phone back in order to “get the answers [she] need[s].” Once she has her phone, though, she realizes that Daniel actually never did follow her. She’s embarrassed, saying she feels crazy, but Daniel is patient with her and notes his feelings for her haven’t changed.
With that put to rest, the engaged couples head to Honduras for a vacation, getting to spend time with one another in the real world. Monica and Joey continue to be a sweet and giggly match, having dinner on the beach and laughing about how incredible their in-person reveal was.
David and Lauren enjoy the hot tub together, and she remarks to the cameras how natural things feel with him, referring to him as the man she’s going to marry. Taylor and Daniel also seem to have bounced back since the incident, and Sara and Ben are also feeling their connection, hinting at their sexual tension they have yet to act upon. This might be the first time in Love Is Blind history that none of the engaged couples fight once they’re out in the real world together!
Everything Is Smooth Sailing
David and Lauren reflect that they feel it will be “very easy” for them to move in together. Though it’s been hard for them to feel drawn to and open up to a partner in the past, they both feel it’s come naturally with one another this time around. Meanwhile, Ben and Sara take a boat ride and go snorkeling, and Taylor and Daniel enjoy a drink by the water. Taylor tells him that while she doesn’t regret having the conversation about Instagram, she does still feel bad about it.
Daniel tells her that he’s also glad they discussed it, demonstrating his patience once again:
As much as neither of us would have preferred that happen, I think it honestly will bring us closer together. I don’t feel it was a setback by any means. We handled it well as a couple and bounced back.
Devin and Virginia remark that things feel “very comfortable” with one another. Seriously, no one’s even had a minor argument yet! (Now it makes sense why we spend an entire six episodes in the pods.) At the end of the episode, however, it comes up that David actually knows one of the men that Lauren dated in the past, and in fact still sees him around today.
Lauren reassures him that she’s set on him as his fiancé, but David’s nerves about his lack of dating experience seem to crop up again. Is he going to allow his insecurities to sabotage what they’ve built together?
