The Dragon Ball website accidentally revealed the official name of Goku’s brand-new transformation. This information was prematurely revealed via a listing for a new Daima-related action figure.

Since the debut of Super Saiyan 4 Goku (Mini) in Daima Episode 18, Dragon Ball fans have wondered if the series will keep the name or give the formerly exclusive Dragon Ball GT form a different moniker to rationalize the Super Saiyan God transformations that will follow in Dragon Ball Super. Based on concept art for Episode 18, the anime staff at Toei Animation were internally referring to Goku’s new Daima form as Super Saiyan 4, as it’s a clear tribute to the anime-original concept in GT. However, the name “Super Saiyan 4” has yet to be used in the series and was intentionally avoided when Goku gave his classic introduction of Super Saiyan forms to King Gomah.

Dragon Ball’s debut of adult Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and Super Saiyan 4 Goku is now the highest-ranking Daima episode and 2025’s highest-rated anime.

Following the premiere of Dragon Ball Daima Episode 19 – the highest-rated 2025 anime episode – the official Dragon Ball website announced a new anime figure based on kid Goku’s hidden power unlocked by Neva. The latest S.H.Figuarts is called Super Saiyan 4 Goku (Mini) -DAIMA-. This is the first official use of Super Saiyan 4 after its introduction on Daima. A price and release date for the new Daima figure will be revealed later, but it will be on display at the Tamashii Nations Store Tokyo as part of the Dragon Ball Tamashii Nations Figure Expo in Japan.

In addition to the S.H.Figuarts announcement, Naoyuki Wada, director of photography for Daima Episode 18, referred to Goku’s new form as Super Saiyan 4 when discussing his recent work. “I worked hard with the photographic processing to take Super Saiyan 4 in a different direction than Blue or God,” Wada said, as translated by Todd Blankenship (@/Herms98) on X (formerly Twitter). Wada’s previous works include Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection ‘F,’ Dragon Ball Super: Broly and Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. He also worked on Love Live! Sunshine!!, Dragon Quest: The Adventure of Dai, Mobile Suit Gundam Seed, One Piece Fan Letter and more.

Dragon Ball DAIMA Episode 20 Sets Up the Anime’s Final Battle (& Final Fusion?)

Dragon Ball Daima is nearly over, but the final anime by the late Akira Toriyama is going out with a bang for its final battle between Goku and Gomah.

Since its premiere, Dragon Ball Daima has attracted the attention of the anime industry’s best talents – franchise veterans and longtime fans who are now introducing themselves to the industry. Talents like chief animation director Chikashi Kubota – who brought forth the strongest case yet for remaking Dragon Ball Z, based on the flashback sequences for Daima Episode 1. Additionally, key animator Ryo Onishi recreated his most memorable animated sequence from Dragon Ball Super: Broly for Episode 17 of Daima.

New episodes of Dragon Ball Daima air every Friday on Crunchyroll. The English dub, starring Stephanie Nadolny as Goku (Mini), has begun premiering one new episode per week from Jan. 10. “Goku and company were living peaceful lives when they suddenly turned small due to a conspiracy!” the series’ official description reads. “When they discover that the reason for this may lie in a world known as the ‘Demon Realm,’ a mysterious young Majin named Glorio appears before them.”
