Love Is Blind Season 8 Episode 8 Recap: Making Good Choices

This season of Love Is Blind has been unlike any other. With five engaged couples spending time in Honduras, so far there have been no fights at all.

As the reality TV cast members prepare to return home, the prospect of introducing their new partner to their family looms over them. Will the fantasy soon come crashing down?

The Cast Comes Together For The First Time

As their time in Honduras continues, everything continues to be smooth sailing for the couples, the conversations surprisingly drama-free thus far. (Truly, the biggest conflict up until now has been about the couples having different sleeping styles.) Finally, it’s time for all of the couples to gather for a group outing, meaning the men and women get to see what the rest of the cast looks like for the first time.

David and Devin have a conversation about sex, with both agreeing it’s not something that should be rushed in a relationship. Instead, they believe it should be felt out with their partner, not following anyone else’s timeline or expectations. As more of the cast talks to one another, it actually seems like more couples haven’t had sex than have, making it feel like another first for Love Is Blind history.

Daniel tells Sara that he actually feels stronger in his connection with Taylor after the Instagram incident. Later in their hotel room, Devin tells Virginia how “cool” it is to see how much the other couples genuinely love each other. Virginia agrees, noting that her favorite part of the trip was hanging in the hotel room, simply getting to spend time getting to know him better.

As the couples prepare to return home, David tells Lauren he’s nervous about explaining the experiment to his family, but that ultimately he’ll have to push through and do it:

I’m old enough and smart enough to make my own decisions.

Heading Home To The Twin Cities

The couples move in to their shared apartments together, entering the next phase of the experiment. Ben tells Sara he’s told his sister about them, and that he’s confident his family will warm to her. He even talks about getting married:

I’ve never pictured any woman in a wedding dress that I was interested in. [But] you talking about it now, I pictured you.

“Oh god,” says Sara, grinning and blushing. She agrees that it’s becoming realer and realer with every passing moment.

Meanwhile, David is still incredibly nervous about filling people in about his new relationship. “I have not seen him like this,” Lauren tells the cameras, seeing how distressed he is. In the end, though, he assures himself that it’s going to be “fun” introducing Lauren to his loved ones.

Part of his stress is that he’s introducing a woman who they already somewhat know, as she previously dated someone in their larger circle. Lauren continues to reassure him that the two of them will be able to talk about and work through anything. “I’m just making sure I’m making good choices,” he says.

At the end of the episode, Monica brings Joey to meet her family, a friendly and lively bunch who, at one point, breaks out into a musical number, each person playing a different instrument. Joey teases her for her family’s communal sock bin that people take from, but in the end he says he likes how “quirky” a bunch they are.

Monica’s sister pulls her aside and says that she’s not sure Joey is the right personality for her. She points out that Joey is nice but seems like he’s acting. “He knows what people want to hear and he’s really good at delivering it,” she says, leaving Monica dumbstruck.
