The Swordsman is making a return to the MCU.

Tony Dalton is set to reprise his role as Jack Duquesne, aka The Swordsman, for two episodes in the upcoming Marvel series Daredevil: Born Again on Disney+.

This return comes as no surprise, as rumors had circulated about Dalton’s involvement in the show, which is bringing back several beloved street-level characters from Netflix’s Daredevil and The Punisher according to Deadline.

Dalton first appeared as Duquesne in the 2021 Hawkeye series on Disney+. His portrayal of The Swordsman took a creative spin on the character’s comic book origins. Duquesne, who is engaged to Kate Bishop’s (Hailee Steinfeld) mother Eleanor Bishop (Vera Farmiga), initially seemed to be positioned as a villain after being framed for his uncle’s murder and stealing a sword that once belonged to the original Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner). However, in the Hawkeye finale, it’s revealed that Eleanor was the true mastermind behind the plot, working in cahoots with Wilson Fisk (Vincent D’Onofrio), aka the Kingpin.

After Hawkeye, Duquesne hasn’t appeared in any MCU projects—until now. With D’Onofrio also returning as Kingpin in Daredevil: Born Again, Dalton’s return fits perfectly into the show’s gritty tone. The series will see the return of Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock, Deborah Ann Woll as Karen Page, Elden Henson as Foggy Nelson, and Wilson Bethel as Bullseye from Netflix’s Daredevil, along with Jon Bernthal reprising his role as Frank Castle/The Punisher from The Punisher.

Dalton’s career spans several Spanish-language television shows and films, but he rose to international fame with his role as the menacing Lalo Salamanca in Better Call Saul. His upcoming projects include the action thriller Trap House, starring alongside Dave Bautista and Bobby Cannavale, produced by Signature Films and Scott Free Productions.

Dalton is represented by Gilbertson Entertainment, Gersh, and Yorn, Levine, Barnes, Krintzman, Rubenstein, Kohner, Endlich, Goodell & Gellman.
