When it comes to fan favorites from The Real Housewives of Orange County, Gretchen Rossi is a name that’s often on the list. It’s for this reason that the news that she’d be returning to the show has gained so much traction. Now, the RHOC star is opening up about her relationship with Slade Smiley and why they have yet to walk down the aisle.

Fans of RHOC will recall that Gretchen and Slade became engaged during the show’s eighth season in 2013. However, she didn’t return for the ninth installment and they have yet to actually tie the knot. 

According to Bravo, Gretchen recently appeared on the Scheananigans With Scheana Shay podcast. She discussed quite a bit on the episode but one of the most pressing moments came when Gretchen opened up about her relationship with Slade and why they aren’t married yet. 

According to Gretchen, “Honestly, it’s really just been the timing of everything.” She went on to say that Slade started a boxing job at some point and added, “Then life just got so busy.”

The RHOC friend of went on, “And then I started trying to have a baby, and that was so much money just doing the whole IVF thing and all that for four and a half years. And then, after we had the baby, we were just busy being parents.”

However, she still wants to have a wedding. She admitted, “I’m not the kind of girl that’s like, ‘Let’s go down to the courthouse and get married.’ I want the wedding…I want to have more of the big hoopla.”

Gretchen has been married before. However, she also said, “I had the big thing, but it wasn’t the right guy,” she continued. “So I wanted it with the right guy.”

Recently, she took to Instagram to show off her Valentine’s Day gift from Slade, which included a beautiful flower bouquet.
