DECATUR, Ill. (WCIA) — The Decatur Police Department is asking the public for help after a person reported that they had been shot Saturday night.

Officers were notified of the incident around 10:30 p.m. on Saturday. Police interviewed the injured person, but the victim was not certain of the exact scene of the incident. After searching, the police found what they thought might be the scene of the crime.

According to the police department, the incident happened at West Grand Avenue and Illinois Route 48, where the victim’s car was hit by bullets.

Officers said the victim’s injuries were non-life threatening, and that this incident is still under investigation. At this time, they do not have any suspects or suspect information. Police encourage anyone with additional information to call them at 217-424-2711.
