At around 4 p.m. Saturday, state troopers responded to reports of traffic congestion on the northbound lanes of the highway.

COLLIER COUNTY, Fla. — Multiple people have been arrested after more than 25 cars were involved in high-speed racing and street takeover on I-75 in Collier County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Right around 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, state troopers responded to reports of traffic congestion and a helicopter flying at low altitude overhead on the northbound lanes of the highway near Mile Marker 51. That’s where five dark-colored SUVs were reportedly parked side-by-side, “occupying” the travel lanes and shoulders.

FHP said several people were standing outside their cars while a bright green Porsche GT3 911 was doing “donuts,” leaving a thick cloud of smoke and visible haze in the area.

State troopers say they were able to stop the Porsche in a parking lot of the Mile Marker 63 recreation area. The passenger, who identified himself as Scott Reback, was arrested and charged with riding as a passenger in a race competition.

The identity of the driver, described only as “the camera guy,” remains unknown at this time, according to FHP.

As they were responding to the initial incident, state troopers say they saw more than 25 “high performance” cars speeding north on the interstate.

Additional state troopers then responded to a street takeover at Mile Marker 63. That’s where they initiated a traffic stop after reportedly seeing a blue Porsche making an illegal U-turn.

State troopers say the Porsche was unregistered, and as a result, the car was impounded. The driver, Rashed Fathi Rashed, 39, was issued a misdemeanor notice to appear in court.

Shortly after, troopers reportedly saw a 2024 Blue Ferrari SF90 racing in a speed competition with multiple cars in the northbound lanes of the highway. The Ferrari, which FHP said had no displayed license tag, was “clocked” at 148 mph in a 70 mph zone.

State troopers say they stopped the driver, Andrew Mumtaz Tadras, and charged him with racing on a highway. He was also issued a citation for unlawful speed and no tag attached.

The Ferrari was also impounded, according to FHP.
