SULLIVAN COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Convicted child killer Megan Boswell has been transferred to a state prison, according to Sullivan County Sheriff Jeff Cassidy.

Cassidy told News Channel 11 that Boswell was sent to a women’s prison in Nashville. The Tennessee Department of Correction has Boswell listed as being in the Debra K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center.

According to the sheriff, she will be transported back to Sullivan County for her sentencing hearing.

Boswell was found guilty by a jury on 19 felony charges in the death of her baby daughter Evelyn Boswell. The same jury sentenced her to life in prison with the possibility of parole after returning a guilty verdict on three counts of first-degree murder.

The jury’s sentencing verdict means Boswell must serve at least 51 years before being eligible for parole. She is scheduled to be sentenced on the remainder of her charges on May 22. Judge Jim Goodwin will also decide if Boswell will serve out the sentence on her other charges consecutively or concurrently.

Her attorney, Gene Scott, filed a motion for a new trial on Feb. 13 – the same day Boswell was found guilty.
