Urbana Mayor candidates making final pushes before primary

URBANA, Ill. (WCIA) — Democrats DeShawn Williams and Annie Adams are facing off in a race that will decide who will be the next mayor of Urbana.

The polls closed at 7 p.m. and the results are rolling in. As of 9 p.m., 91.3% of the vote had been counted with 21/21 precincts counted.

DeShawn Williams is currently in the lead with 1,904 votes, or 64.22%. Annie Adams trails behind with 1,061 votes, or 35.78% of the vote.

In Ward 2, incumbent Christopher Evans is currently ahead of challenger Larry Lister. Evans is leading with 147 votes, which is 56.11%. Lister currently has 115 votes, or 43.89%.

In Ward 6, incumbent Grace Wilken is also ahead of challenger William Colbrook. Wiken leads with 377 votes, which is 58.09%. Colbrook trails with 272 votes or 41.91%.
