SAVANNAH, Ga. () – Beer, bites and the self-proclaimed “Best Bloody Mary in Savannah” are just a few of the things that can all be found at this Bay Street hangout.
Owner Scot Minshall and his wife, Paisley, moved to Savannah just over eight years ago with the intent of buying a bar/restaurant. They landed on 11 West Bay Street and converted it into Paisley Scot Tavern, more commonly known to locals as PS Tavern.
Minshall is quick to give credit to those around him when asked what it is that sets PS Tavern apart from the surrounding bars, ” Number one it’s our staff. We have staff that has been here for years who support and believe everything that we kind of try to create as a business. So when you go on to our reviews one of the first things you see is the friendliness of our staff.”
A signature of the downtown spot is their famous pickle shot. The pickle juice and vodka mixture has become so popular at the bar that many people who come in once believed the PS in PS Tavern stood for Pickle Shot.
When asked about his sign in the front that read “Best Bloody Mary in Savannah” Minshall had this to say, “We infuse our own vodka with peppers, we make our own bloody mary mix and then we offer some unique Wisconsin flavors including a cheese curd. So it is very popular, very good, very delicious and very filling.”
