As the daughter of Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker and actress Shanna Moakler, Alabama Barker was destined for the spotlight. When you’re born into fame, you can try to escape it or embrace it to the fullest extent. It certainly looks like Alabama has chosen the latter option.
She has appeared on reality television, making appearances on Meet the Barkers and The Kardashians. The latter of which is thanks to her father’s new marriage to Kourtney Kardashian. Alabama even ventured into the music world, releasing a video complete with cameos from her father and stepmother. Alabama recently showed off a new Y2K-inspired tattoo on her Instagram to her many followers.
Alabama Showed Off New Y2K-Inspired Ink On Instagram While Posing In A Sheer Lace Dress
Alabama Barker turned heads in January by revealing a new look, which included a new tattoo. In an Instagram post, Alabama posed in a black sheer lace dress while showing off her new Y2K tattoo. The dress had an off-the-shoulder cut along with a striking thigh-high slit and trim detailing. The dress was embroidered with lace and showed off the black thong Alabama layered underneath.
She topped the provocative look off by covering her breasts with her hands. Her long blonde hair was styled into soft waves with a side parting. Alabama decided to go for glam makeup with a dark smoky eye, feather lashes, and an overlined lip, which has become her signature. In addition to the clothes, there was jewelry. Alabama wore a pair of diamond-encrusted stud earrings along with a silver necklace. She also wore a stack of Cartier rings on her fingers.
The look was displayed in a carousel of photographs Alabama shared on the social media app. Her new tattoo was revealed in the last picture. The piece is a decorative design Alabama got on her lower back. The design itself is from a popular tattoo seen primarily during its height in the late 1990s and early 2000s.
It seems like Alabama is hopping on board of the recent Y2K resurgence. She captioned the post, “Bro said he can’t wait to see Alabama like Travis Barker.”
While this new piece of ink has surely caught people’s eye, it’s not the first time Alabama has been tattooed. She previously got tattooed with her father in 2024 when the two headed to the tattoo parlor together. She shared a picture with her dad on her Instagram Story and captioned it, “Tatted together.” In the following picture, she revealed the title of Stevie Wonder’s hit song “Isn’t She Lovely” tattooed on the side of her hand.
She then revealed the significance behind the tattoo, writing, “Fun Fact: I was rocked as a baby to this song almost everyday!”
Alabama Said She Was Excited To Be A Big Sister Again Prior To Her Baby Brother’s Birth
It certainly looks like Alabama is still very supportive of her father, and that includes his baby Rocky with Kourtney Kardashian. In 2023, Alabama revealed to E! News that she was excited to hear about Kourtney’s pregnancy while at Beautycon in Los Angeles. When speaking to the outlet, Alabama gushed over the news.
“I just think having another family member is always awesome,” she said. “Getting to know a new person, it’s gonna be so fun and so exciting!”
Alabama had previously shared a heartfelt tribute to Kourtney on her 44th birthday that April. “Happy birthday Kourt,” she wrote on her Instagram story. “You’re the best stepmom I could ask for, you are so caring and generous for others, you are such a family person and such a hard-working mom.”
“Even if you don’t feel good or had a hard day, you always put your family first,” Alabama continued. “You have such a beautiful aura, I wouldn’t want another stepmom.”
Alabama also shared a selfie with Kourtney on her Instagram in October 2024. It showed the two posing together in the backseat of a car. The photo was taken on the set of Alabama’s “Vogue” music video, in which both Kourtney and Travis made appearances. Kourtney wrote, “a duo,” in the comment section of Alabama’s post. Travis then responded with a black heart emoji and commented, “Best duo.”
The news of Travis and Kourtney’s pregnancy came in June of that year, with a special announcement from the couple. While attending a Blink 182 concert, Kourtney held up a sign that read, “Travis I’m Pregnant.” A video of the moment was then shared on both Travis and Kourtney’s Instagram pages.
Alabama Steps Into The Music World With Cameos From Both Kourtney And Travis
Alabama decided to follow in her father’s footsteps in 2024 when she released the music video for her song “Vogue.” In the rap song, she talks about having money, best friends and getting ready to take over the world. Travis even made a cameo in the video, along with Kourtney.
Kourtney is seen giving a lot of attitude during her scene, where she sits next to Alabama in the backseat of a limo. This is the same scene previously revealed in the Instagram selfie. Kourtney threw large stacks of $100 bills at paparazzi, who were photographing her and Alabama. The two eventually get bored with the paparazzi, so they roll the windows up and the song begins.
Travis is seen strutting down a fashion runway during his scene. Alabama’s brother Landon also appears in the video, making it a full family affair. In the video, Alabama sports a bodysuit which not only covers her body, but her hair as well.
“Pretty b****, I’m in that mode / Look like I’m fresh outta Vogue/ I never do what I’m told / Back of the truck, it’s just me and my h***,” she raps in the song. “How b*****s mad ’cause I’m chose. Really, tell me, how? / To tell you the truth, I don’t know / But I know I ain’t goin’ broke.'”
Travis’ runway look is complete with an outfit which exposes his chest tattoos. After his time on the runway is up, the video cuts back to Alabama and Kourtney performing the song in the limo. Both stepmother and stepdaughter throw money around while dancing to the track. If their energy is any indication, it certainly looks like Alabama and Kourtney were enjoying themselves.
“Vogue” marked Alabama’s debut in music, where she previously gained a following from sharing makeup tutorials. Travis fully supported his daughter by promoting her “Vogue” video and song across his social media platforms. To promote the release of her debut single, Alabama spoke to Paper Magazine about venturing into the music world.
“The music video’s inspiration was entirely my vision from the ground up,” she explained. “I creatively directed the entire project from start to finish, ensuring every detail perfectly aligned with my ideas. I’m very particular about my craft, and it was crucial to me that everything — from the concept to the final cut — reflected exactly what I envisioned. This project is a true expression of who I am, so when you watch the music video, you’re seeing a piece of my creativity come to life.”
Alabama was asked what the song meant to her, and she was clear in her response. “‘Vogue’ is such a fun and culturally rich record,” Alabama told the outlet. “It embodies youth, creativity and a sense of girlhood that’s super relatable. Whether you’re getting ready for a night out, hyping yourself up, or just in need of good vibes, this song is your go-to anthem.”
As expected, Alabama also revealed that it was Travis who inspired her to get into the music business. “Growing up with my dad’s music, I was surrounded by so much passion and creativity,” she said. “He’s been my biggest inspiration —not just musically, but in how he approaches his craft and work ethic. Now that I’ve discovered my own love for music, I’m carving out my own sound and journey while honoring everything he’s taught me.”
