She explained in the caption that upon her arrival in Los Angeles, she had a fall on the pavement leading to a bump on her forehead. Despite the not-so-great appearance, she expressed gratitude that the incident wasn’t more severe. She mentioned using arnica gel to help with the bruise and felt relieved that the injury wasn’t more serious. She emphasized the importance of accepting and embracing such situations for survival.

Her followers, including several celebrities, have shown their support and sent well-wishes in response to her post.

“Oh Diane!!!! I’m so glad it wasn’t worse. Love you!!!!” commented Tracee Ellis Ross.

Supportive comments poured in, including one from singer Jewel who shared her own experience of sustaining a broken orbital bone and a black eye from a dog jumping up as she was bending down to pet it. Jewel encouraged owning such incidents with a message of love and healing emojis.

“Oh no. I’m so sorry,” shared makeup artist and brand owner Bobbi Brown.

In 2024, von Furstenberg celebrated the 50th anniversary of her iconic wrap dress and premiered her documentary, “Diane von Furstenberg: Woman in Charge.”

“I had no idea when I created that little dress that it would become a social phenomenon and that people would still be buying it 50 years later,” she told PEOPLE in June about the famous design.

“I created the wrap dress, but in truth, the wrap dress created me. It just happened. I owe her as much as she owes me,” the author and philanthropist added.

In August 2024, the designer regained control of her DFV brand after four years under the Chinese licensee Glamel. At that time, it was also announced that von Furstenberg would bring in fashion executive Graziano di Boni to help with the transition.

I am in the process of reclaiming control of the business, which will bring about many exciting changes starting next year, von Furstenberg shared with PEOPLE in October 2024 during the opening of her exhibition “Diane von Furstenberg: Woman Before Fashion” in Los Angeles.

“I spent the entire COVID period working on this,” she explained. “I took a deep dive into the brand and its language, and then I reassembled the most talented people I had worked with before. We’re ready to kick things off in February.”
