An “Adrenaline Junkie” Turned Stuntman Plans to Bring His Tricks to Fiji for Survivor 48
Share and Follow

Described as “passionate, daring and curious,” stuntman David Kinne is ready to bring his parkour skills to the shores of Fiji for Survivor 48, competing for the title of “Sole Survivor” and the million-dollar prize in mere hours.

Will he have what it takes to emerge victorious, though?

After analyzing his official Survivor biography, as well as his pre-show interview with Mike Bloom at Parade, he sounds like a serious contender for the win.

But don’t just take it from us — keep scrolling for everything you need to know about David ahead of the highly-anticipated Survivor 48 premiere (Feb. 26) via CBS.

David Kinne’s Age, Career And More

Coming into Survivor 48 at 39 years old, David is a California native, born in Long Beach and currently living in Buena Park.

As mentioned previously, he has a career that is rather out of the ordinary, working as a stuntman at Disneyland, Universal Studios and more.

“I actually got into stunts pretty late, actually. 2016 or so, so a little less than 10 years, but it’s been a wild ride since then. A lot of bruises, a lot of bumps along the way, but I love it,” he told Parade, prior to delving into the details of his occupation:

“I guess I’ve kind of always been a little bit of an adrenaline junkie. I worked as a white water rafting instructor in Colorado for six summers, and obviously played sports throughout my whole life, and I’ve always kind of been chasing the thrill of random things that some people might, I guess, be a little squeamish of.”

“I don’t want to say that I’m pretty fearless, because it sounds a little arrogant, but then again, I am a little arrogant… I kind of put performance and athletics together, and you get stunts.”

When he isn’t working, David enjoys “flying, riding jet skis, diving, playing video games and playing board games — is there anything he can’t do?

Eager to play a physically dominant game like Survivor 42‘s Jonathan Young, David also wants to find a loyal ally who is as kind as can be on the reality television series.

“This is a ruthless game at times. Feelings will be hurt. Tears will be shed at some point. Betrayal will hit… Knowing someone is genuine in their kindness makes trusting them easier and forgiving them possible,” he shared in his official Survivor biography.

Beginning with the Civa tribe alongside Kyle Fraser, Mitch Guerra, Kamilla Karthigesu, Charity Nelms and Chrissy Sarnowsky, here’s to hoping David finds his perfect partner in crime.

Believe it or not, David is confident that his background as a stuntman will lead to success on Survivor.

“Many of my experiences have prepared me for this game, but none more than so than the diverse group of people I have lived and worked with across multiple countries and continents. It has allowed me to embrace such a diverse world, filled with extraordinary people across all walks of life,” he shared in his official Survivor biography.

He doubled down on his ability to interact with and appeal to people from all different walks of life in his interview with Parade as well. He gushed:

“I can chisel away at people that don’t like me. I think I can find common ground on someone, because I’m a nerd trapped in a jock’s body.”

“It might not be obvious, but I can connect with pretty much anybody, because I have so many different hobbies and so many different interests… Even if you don’t like me, you’ll kind of slowly be like, ‘Okay, this guy’s not so bad. Oh, this guy’s pretty cool.’ I think I have that effect on a lot of people, as long as they just take the time to get to know me.'”

“When you’re stuck on an island, they’re gonna have to,” he added with a chuckle.

Topping things off, David said that overall, his strong sense of self and overall self-awareness will earn him the title of “Sole Survivor” and the milllion-dollar prize. He concluded:

“I know who I am, what I am capable of and, more importantly, how others will perceive me. I will have to face all of these and will use them to my advantage.”

Now we will just have to wait and see what the season has in store…

Will he have what it takes to outwit, outplay and outlast his competition, though?

The only way to find out is to tune into brand-new episodes of Survivor 48 each and every Wednesday — beginning Feb. 26 via CBS — or to stream them the following day via Paramount Plus.

After all, according to host Jeff Probst, it is certain to be a season to remember.

Sitting down with Z100NYC, Jeff admitted that “this season has some of the most amazing storylines,” arguing that viewers will “cry in the first two minutes of episode one” — how wild is that? He continued:

“You just feel it. Our storytelling is pretty good, and we take you in really fast, and all of a sudden you’re like, ‘Why am I crying over what this guy just said?’ I don’t even know this guy, but it’s powerful.”

“I always say to people, ‘If you’ve never watched Survivor, just give me one episode.’ That’s it. Give me ten minutes. If you’re not in in ten minutes, you’ll never be in.”

“I’m gonna bet you’re coming back for episode two,” he concluded with a cheeky grin, and needless to say, we cannot contain our excitement.
