GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Andrew Joshua Sito, 22, was arrested yesterday and charged with possession of a video showing two juvenile females engaging in a sexual act.
On January 10, 2024, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received a CyberTip from Google about a video that had been uploaded to Google Drive on January 6. The account reportedly was created under the name “Andrew Sito,” using Sito’s date of birth.
Some of the IP addresses used to access the account were assigned to the UF Student Affairs wireless network at the time of the upload; that network requires authentication, and the authenticated user associated with the IP address at that time reportedly used Sito’s credentials. The devices were a desktop computer and a device with the name “Andrews-iPhone.”
Another IP address was reportedly associated with a family member’s home in Orlando. Other IP addresses were associated with his cellular provider’s network, and his phone number was reportedly connected to those IP addresses at the times listed for the Google account.
In April 2024, a Gainesville Police Department detective learned from the University of Florida Police Department (UFPD) that Sito was a student at the University of Florida during the spring semester of 2024 and that one of his registered email addresses matched the reported Google account. However, Sito was not enrolled for the summer or fall semesters of 2024.
On February 10, 2025, the detective learned that Sito was back in Gainesville, and she confirmed with UFPD that he is currently enrolled at the university. On February 27, a search warrant was executed at his apartment at Oxford Manor Apartments (2777 SW Archer Rd) and contact was made with Sito and his roommates.
Post Miranda, Sito reportedly confirmed that the phone number associated with the Google account was his and that he’d had the number for eight or nine years. He reportedly provided three email addresses, one of which was from the reported Google account; Sito reportedly said he hadn’t used that account in a year and eventually admitted that was because it was deactivated for child exploitation material.
Sito reportedly said he recognized screenshots from the video and believed the females to be juveniles. He reportedly added that more child sexual abuse material would be found on his electronic devices and that he had planned to report “links” containing child sexual abuse material but was scared that he would be questioned about how he knew about them.
“Numerous” electronic devices were reportedly seized, and those are being analyzed.
Sito has been charged with one count of possession of child pornography. He has no local criminal history; Judge Meshon Rawls set bail at $25,000, and he has posted bail.
Articles about arrests are based on reports from law enforcement agencies. The charges listed are taken from the arrest report and/or court records and are only accusations. All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
