TLC’s reality TV show, The Baldwins, explores the world of Alec and Hilaria Baldwin and their seven kids. It is an eye-opening look at one of Hollywood’s biggest names, his family, his home, and some of the ups and downs of his career.
Alec Baldwin has eight children, including Ireland, his daughter with ex-wife Kim Basinger, but she’s grown up with a family of her own. Alec and Hilaria’s children, however, are all under the age of 12, making their reality TV show a joy and an adventure to watch.
Hilaria has shared countless pictures of their brood on social media and highlighted their personalities and adventures. Alongside interviews and the show, here’s what we know about Alec and Hilaria’s seven children.

Carmen Gabriela, Age 11
Carmen Gabriela, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s first child, was born on August 23, 2013. Now 11, Carmen has already proven to be industrious, releasing a book with her mother in late 2024. The book, entitled Glowing Up: Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty, contains natural skincare recipes alongside tips about navigating traditional beauty standards.
When Glowing Up came out, Carmen told People:
“All of these recipes are ones that I have been making at home for a couple of years. I use them on myself and my siblings and my parents… My mom teaches me that sharing is so important and she thought that these recipes would be so fun to write down and share with other kids and their families! I feel very lucky for this experience and I hope people like it as much as I do! I do a lot of research into different ingredients that are good for hair and skin.”
Carmen and Hilaria tried many of the recipes on Alec and, according to the youngster:
“I’ve made some mistakes along the way…like turning my dad yellow from turmeric…oops! But I had so much fun making these recipes and using them. I am constantly making more!”

Rafael Thomas, Age 9
Alec and Hilaria Baldwin welcomed their first son, Rafael Thomas, on June 17, 2015. According to Hilaria, the young boy, known as “Rafa” or “Raf” to his parents, was not an easy birth. On Rafael’s eighth birthday, Hilaria wrote about the day he was born:
“On these days, my mind always goes back to their birth stories, and Raf was a tough one. 23 hours of labor, born a month early, came out blue and had a tough time breathing.
I was telling him today about the NICU nurses and how wonderful these humans were-warm, kind, supportive. They cared for him in that little incubator, carefully turning him, and comforting my broken self, at the time. How they guided us through taking out his tubes, when he was ready, being able to hold his hand through that hole, then take him out and hold him…and eventually bring him home.”

Leonardo Angel Charles, Age 8
The Baldwins introduced their second son, Leonardo Angel Charles, to the world on September 12, 2016. Born about a year after his brother, Leonardo was celebrated by his family on his eighth birthday with a list of “favorite things” that Hilaria shared on Instagram:
“We went around the family and all said some of our favorite things about you…we agreed that you are the sweetest one of us and we told you how much we love you…Marilú said: I love you that I open all your presents and eat your cake…and happy birthday! The baby just keeps saying: to you! You are so patient with your little siblings and such an animal lover….says so much about your soul, Leo…”

Romeo Alejandro David, Age 6
It took Alec and Hilaria Baldwin several days to decide what their third son’s name was after he was born on May 17, 2018. Hilaria told People that they initially thought they were going to name him “Diego,” but she got a sense before his birth “that was not his name.”
One factor in deciding what the name would be was the desire to stay away from more names of Ninja Turtles. With Leonardo and Rafael already in the mix, Hilaria said “Michaelangelo and Donatello will not be coming out of me.”

Eduardo Pau Lucas, Age 4
The couple’s fourth son and fifth child, Eduardo Pau Lucas, joined the Baldwin family on September 8, 2020. Alongside his sister, MariLu (born via surrogate), Eduardo was described by his mother as a “rainbow baby” on Instagram. Eduardo was born after she experienced two miscarriages, including a girl born in late 2019:
“There is not a day that goes by where I do not miss their older sister, who we lost at 16 weeks. There is also not a day that goes by where I don’t thank my lucky stars that I have Eduardo Pau and Maria Lucia.”

Maria Lucia Victoria, Age 3
Maria Lucia Victoria was born via surrogate just six months after her brother, Eduardo, on February 25, 2021. Alec and Hilaria Baldwin’s decision to use a surrogate was controversial, something she discussed on her Witches Anonymous podcast in 2022. Hilaria made it clear that,
“I don’t have a difference between my daughter that was born via surrogacy and my six other children that I carried. There’s no difference. And what people assume that I’m less of a mom, that she’s less of my daughter.”

Ilaria Catalina Irena, Age 2
After giving birth to Ilaria Catalina Irena on September 22, 2022, Hilaria Baldwin told Romper “This is probably, most definitely, almost completely my last baby.” She qualified that statement by noting that she’s not willing to part with her maternity clothes just yet because “then I’ll find out I’m pregnant.”
On Ilaria’s second birthday, Hilaria shared an image with an insightful description of her youngest child:
“You are a wild force and make us all laugh every day. You are athletic and so smart….and our favorite name for you is “tiny monster”. You wake up and you are go, go, go all day. Our busy sept bday season comes to a close with you. You are talking more and more and are cracking jokes. Leo’s bday 10 days ago you would sing “to you”! And today you can say “birthday to you”!…and you add in “daddy” and know you are being silly and this makes us laugh even harder! We are all so in love with you and we are grateful everyday we get to be your family!”
