Billy Joel, 75, falls down, sparks concern after losing balance at concert

Billy Joel took a nasty fall during his concert at Mohegan Sun in Montville, Connecticut, on Feb. 22.

While performing his 1980 single “It’s Still Rock and Roll to Me,” the music legend twirled his microphone and lost his balance after throwing it toward the crowd, as seen in a video shared by a concert-goer on TikTok.

The “Piano Man” singer then fell and landed on his side before rolling onto his back.

After getting back up, Joel finished the song and played one more track for the crowd.

While the 75-year-old rocker appeared okay after falling, the tumble sparked some concern online.

“Oh my gosh he looks like he was hurt,” one person wrote in the comments section of the video.

“That fall at the end had me worried. I saw him a couple years ago and he’s still got it.. sounds great and he’s having a great time…maybe just stay on your two feet, Billy,” another said.

“Dangerous fall being 75,” a third netizen commented.

Joel’s fall comes after he canceled a Florida concert in January due to a mystery “medical procedure.”

While the singer hasn’t publicly addressed his fall, Joel doesn’t appear ready to slow down. In fact, his current tour schedule has him performing through November 2025.

He even announced more tour dates after his fall, including stops at Yankee Stadium, MetLife Stadium and Citi Field this summer.

“I’m looking forward to playing these iconic stadiums this summer – each holds personal significance to me,” Joel told Billboard in a story published Monday.

He’ll be joined by RodNicks at MetLife Stadium and Sting at Citi Field.

“There’s nothing like the energy of the crowds in New York, and sharing a stage with my friends, Rod Stewart, Sting and Stevie Nicks, whose music always inspires me, is extremely rewarding.”

Before his current tour, Joel completed a residence at Madison Square Garden, where he performed one show a month for an entire decade.
