THIS is the incredible moment Ukrainian troops chuck a beehive at Russian troops hiding in a bunker after running out of grenades.

Kyiv’s military has not stopped short of creativity, especially using drones, but it appears to be the first time soldiers have resorted to using insects in the fight against Russia.

The unbelievable footage, posted on Telegram, shows two Ukrainian soldiers amidst ruins in the east of the country carrying a beehive together.

The pair grab the wooden box filled with the insects and lug it towards the bunker, with the drone footage capturing the moment they chuck down the hole.

The video’s commentary says: “After the Ukrainian military ran out of grenades, they threw a couple of beehives into the basement of Russian soldiers.”

Russian troops do not appear to re-emerge from the hole as the Ukrainian soldiers are seen jogging into a nearby building after dumping the hive.

The bizarre insect weapon was used near the town of Pokrovsk in east Ukraine as the two sides continue the bloody battle along the frontline.

Ukraine has become an expert in weapon improvisation as the conflict wearily drags on.

The use of drones has been one of the biggest developments of the war as their use consistently evolves.

In February, Ukrainians were reportedly using drones as improvised explosive devices.

And drones are also being sneakily flown into positions beside roads and tracks – where they hide effectively in foliage – before an enemy vehicle.

In 2022, due to US trade sanctions, Russians have had to salvage computer chips from fridges and dishwashers in attempts to boost their military supplies.

Gina Raimondo, the US commerce secretary at the time, said: “We have reports from Ukrainians that when they find Russian military equipment on the ground, it’s filled with semiconductors that they took out of dishwashers and refrigerators.”

And Ukrainian officials said that, upon capturing Russian tanks, they found various parts from household appliances.

These were apparently used as substitutes for key components that Moscow was no longer able to import.

UKRAINE AID HALT

Trump delivered a blistering speech to Congress, in which he confirmed a “temporary pause” in military aid and blamed Ukraine for failing to secure peace talks with Russia.

The US president insisted that “America must focus on American interests”, warning that the war had become a European responsibility.

Trump’s move stunned Western allies, with officials scrambling to determine the full extent of the freeze.

Reports suggest that US weapons already in transit — worth over £790 million — have been halted.

These include Patriot missile systems, crucial for Ukraine’s air defense, HIMARS rocket launchers and precision-guided munitions, anti-tank weapons and armoured vehicles.

Unsurprisingly, the White House’s move was celebrated in Moscow.

Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said: “If the US stops or suspends supplies, this will probably be the best contribution to the cause of peace.”

Kyiv, meanwhile, says the halt of arms raid to Ukraine will be “painful, but not fatal”.
