The former wife of Essendon premiership star Ricky Olarenshaw will spend less than seven months in a Balinese jail after she was found guilty of operating an illegal brothel.

Nitha Olerenshaw, 36, was facing up to 12 years in Bali’s infamous Kerobokan prison after she was found guilty of operating an illegal brothel in Seminyak with another Indonesian woman.

Throughout the trial, Mrs Olerenshaw was adamant her estranged husband Ricky Olarenshaw should be the one in handcuffs, claiming she was a scapegoat for the former Essendon star and three other men who she said owned the business. Mr Olarenshaw denies the claims against him.

The former Bomber moved to the Gold Coast before police carried out the anti-prostitution raids and his ex criticised him for abandoning her and their two children.

Mrs Olerenshaw told the court Mr Olarenshaw was the mastermind behind the business and he used her name for paperwork.

She claims when they separated, his business partners threatened to put her in jail if she didn’t pay out dividends, allegations he said are false and inaccurate.

It comes as Melbourne couple Michael and Lynley Le Grand were jailed for running another illegal brothel in Kuta.

The husband and wife from Sandringham were given the same sentence of seven months because they were honest and showed remorse.
