The Lake City Police Department said a 31-year-old man was killed in a home invasion, where there were multiple adults and children in the home.
LAKE CITY, Fla. — A man was shot and killed during a home invasion in Lake City Tuesday by an occupant of the home, according to the Lake City Police Department (LCPD).
LCPD said officers arrived at a SW Leslie Glen home around 11:06 p.m. to find a 31-year-old man shot. An adult fired “multiple shots at the intruder” when the man rushed toward them, according to LCPD. Officers provided first aid until emergency personnel arrived, but the man died from his injuries, police said.
Victims of the home invasion said the man was known to them and he was successful in breaking into the home. There were multiple adults and children in the home, police said.
