Celebrities have had a complicated relationship with the paparazzi for years. It’s a sort of a love-hate relationship. That’s because while the stars will happily pose for a picture at a premiere or when they need to promote themselves, they want to be left alone when going about their daily lives. But the paps know those candid shots when they’re not expecting it, can make the most money.

We’ve seen evidence on several occasions of the celebs going to different lengths to avoid the cameras by covering their faces with their hands and arms or wearing a ridiculous disguise or running through the streets away from the paparazzi. Now, a veteran photographer is revealing what it’s like trying to get shots of the world’s most famous people and revealing who makes it almost “impossible” to get a picture of them.

Who are the most difficult celebs to get a picture of?

Professional photographer and host of Paparazzi Podcast Mark Karloff has snapped pics of countless celebrities throughout his career, getting shots of everyone from Mike Tyson to Jim Carrey to Julia Roberts to Olivia Wilde. He also worked as Heidi and Spencer Pratt’s personal photographer for a few years.

In an interview with FruitySlots.com, Karloff stated that there is very good money to be made in his profession. He shared just how much he got for a couple of his snaps saying: “I generated up to $80,000 for a shot of Tom Cruise on a motorcycle filming Top Gun 2 with Jennifer Connelly on the back. That was a photo that went everywhere. And Charlize Theron when she was playing Megyn Kelly, that was sold to multiple outlets, probably up to $30,000.”

He was also asked who some of the most elusive stars to catch out and about are and named Brad Pitt.

“There are plenty of tough celebrities to shoot. Brad Pitt is tough,” Karloff responded.

But there was another star Karloff remembers who was nearly “impossible” to get a pic of because he would take the photogs on wild chases through Los Angeles.

Which star led paps on ‘dangerous’ chases through the streets?

That “extremely tough” person to get a picture of without it leading to a dangerous chase was David Beckham.

Karloff explained just what the former soccer superstar would do on his bike that had the paps not only concerned for their own safety but for Becks as well.

“If he’s on a motorcycle it’s next to impossible … he’ll take you on a chase like you’ve never seen before … There have been many chases with Beckham,” Karloff recalled. “I spotted him on a motorcycle once, he’s crazy. He’ll drive the motorcycle, we’ll be following him and he’ll have one hand on the wheel and he’ll be looking back over his shoulder to see if he’s lost you.

“I remember looking at him going ‘turn around dude’. On a motorcycle it’s impossible. But he’s also taken us on chases, U-turns, darting into parking structures, down alleys to ditch you, then we find him and it turns into another chase. But I think he has fun doing it. It’s not necessarily getting away to avoid a picture, he has fun. Sometimes we indulged and sometimes we had to give up because it was too dangerous.”
