Southern Charm Season 10, Episode 13 Recap: Life's A Beach

Southern Charm Season 10 is nearing its end, but the drama in the Bahamas continues. In the previous episode, Shep Rose’s girlfriend, Sienna Evans, continues to keep her distance from him after she skipped out on a boat day with the Charleston gang.

Meanwhile, Jarrett “JT” Thomas arrived to meet the cast for dinner, but after being eviscerated by the likes of Austen Kroll, Craig Conover, and Salley Carson, he packed up his things and flew back home the next day.

Episode 13 will explore Shep and Sienna’s relationship further, as the former may finally get the answer he deserves about the status of their relationship. Will she actually show up and meet him this time or will Shep spiral again?

Craig Conover Tells It Like He Sees It

After the Charleston crew’s fun-filled boat day, they make their way back to their respective hotel suites where Shep Rose asks for some advice from Craig Conover. Shep tells him that Sienna Evans will meet up for dinner, but wants to know whether he should give her a necklace he bought for her. It just so happens to be a necklace of a shark’s tooth—something similar he had once purchased for his ex, Taylor Ann Green.

Ever since Craig met Sienna at their hotel a couple of days ago, he automatically got a bad “aura” from her and could sense that she wasn’t into Shep. Because of this, Craig has told Shep his honest truth—Sienna is not in love with him and, as a matter of fact, the pillow maker hits Shep with some hard truths that she may not even like him. Is Craig being a little too harsh towards his friend?

“You don’t have to be a rocket scientist to see that she doesn’t like him,” Craig shares in a confessional. “Shep’s going to continue to get let on. So what’s the point of having her at dinner?”

But, Shep is still holding out for hope. Austen Kroll, who stays silent on the matter, later states in his own confessional that while he also thinks what Craig is saying is true, Craig doesn’t need to go at Shep so negatively. “Is the way that he is delivering it wrong? That I think, yes as well,” Austen shares.

Meanwhile, at the girl’s suite, Whitney Sudler-Smith walks in with a bottle of champagne to hear the latest gossip, which, of course, is all about Shep and Sienna.

“He can’t wrap his head around the fact that she’s not into him,” Madison LeCroy tells Patricia Altschul’s son. “Okay, could you imagine bringing your all your f******* friends and coming here and then not getting laid?”

In a hilarious moment back in the guy’s suite, Austen asks Craig why he’s so heated about Shep’s girl problems. When Craig states that he is “sensitive to justice and right and wrong,” Austen replies, “That sounds like JT, dude.” That’s pretty interesting…

Shep decides to head to the group dinner early so he can meet up with Sienna. He doesn’t know what to expect. What was supposed to be a fun-filled vacation with his “exclusive” Miss Bahamas girlfriend, is anything but.

“I was hoping this dinner would be a coronation of our relationship and ride off into the sunset. And here I am, entering enemy territory almost.”

Sienna and Shep sit down on the beach and the latter doesn’t hesitate for one second to give Sienna his gift to her. When Shep tells her that giving gifts is his “love language,” Sienna’s eyes light up. But, as Shep begins to pour his heart out to Sienna, telling her about their “undeniable connection,” she ends up telling him that they were never in a relationship. Did we hear that right?

“We were in love,” Shep tells Sienna, to which she replies, “I don’t know if we were in love.”

Oh, boy, this one is going to hurt.

The rest of the cast shows up for dinner where Shep tells Whitney that he pretty much got broken up with. However, Sienna still joins them. Why? Why? Why? It is extremely tense and awkward. After Shep tells Craig that he gave Sienna the shark tooth necklace, Madison is quick to state that he also got one for Taylor, too. Ouch.

Whitney — who admitted that Sienna sent him a message on Raya before Shep in Episode 9 — then decides to poke his nose into Shep and Sienna’s relationship by asking her to define it as it stands today. Sienna tells him what she told Shep previously: they “are not in a relationship right now.”

Both Craig and Austen want to get to the bottom of things, with the latter even pressing Sienna about why she told him she loved Shep but is retracting it all. Sienna remains silent most of the time, and, as Rodrigo Reyes puts it, it’s extremely sad to see Shep having gotten “played for a fool” in front of all of his friends.

Sienna makes the right call by leaving. As Shep walks her back, she tells him not to hate her. This will probably be the last time Shep ever sees her in person.

After a very awkward dinner, the cast sit near the beach where they agree that seeing Shep get his heart broken is really tough to see. When Shep returns, Venita Aspen goes and talks to Shep to lift his spirits up.

In a confessional, she shares, “It’s very, very sad ’cause she is coming off of a long-term relationship where he was trying to fix it, and now he’s like genuinely opening up his heart again and this girl is just like ripping at it.”

After all that Shep and Sienna back-and-forth, we finally get to see Craig and Austen discuss the fallout of their friendship. It has taken a backseat while the cast vacationed in the Bahamas, but Craig finally opens up, telling Austen that he knows he hates him but doesn’t exactly know why, and Austen admits he feels the same way. Austen tells Craig that he doesn’t like it when he “embellishes,” Craig admits, “I’m a lawyer, I’m a storyteller.” Well, that didn’t exactly help.

Meanwhile, Venita is seen texting JT, who is sending her paragraphs. In a confessional, she states that things have progressed in their relationship and knows that he has real feelings for her. “100% … JT likes me.”

“If JT has a girlfriend in this moment, then I feel sorry for the girl on the other side because he’s spending all his time talking and texting me, he’s giving you crumbs.”

We then see Craig and Austen speaking privately. Craig tells Austen that he “wants to get back to a place of love” with his friend, but Austen shares that he is seeing a different side to Craig — one that’s projecting an image that doesn’t feel authentic. In turn, Craig reveals that while he wants to go out and have fun with Austen, he can’t because he can’t pull back from drinking excessively. Craig reveals to Austen that he is battling an addiction to alcohol.

“I’m an addict,” he reveals to Austen.

The next scene then flashes back to a younger Craig who drank excessively and had an Adderall addiction. That’s no longer him anymore, and he even thanks his ex-girlfriend, Paige DeSorbo, for helping him battle his addictions. Craig further tells Austen that’s why he and Paige “are so close.”

“I’m so lucky that she chose to be like, ‘I see someone there.’ She helped me, like, beat this demon.'”

Craig just wants to be a better version of himself, and it looks like Austen finally understands. “Craig’s addiction doesn’t excuse him from being an a**hole …. It is a starting point, and it is definitely is not what I expected him to say,” Austen says in a confessional. The two men apologize and hug it out. Finally, we get some resolution and it feels nice.

When the group sees Austen and Craig hugging it out, Shep jokes, “I wish this is what happened with Sienna.”

The cast head back home to Charleston, but not before getting to have a group breakfast surrounded by flamingos Craig paid for.

Season 10 of Southern Charm airs on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on Bravo and streams on Peacock the following day.
