Pro-Palestinian activists vandalize Trump golf course in Scotland

Pro-Palestinian activists vandalized President Trump’s golf course in Scotland on Saturday to protest his administration’s policies in the Gaza Strip.

In white bold-face capital letters, activists wrote “Gaza is not 4 sale” on Trump’s Turnberry golf course. The letters were each 3-meters high, according to the activists.

The activists also spray-painted the side of the hotel, using red paint, and “dug up the greens including the course’s most prestigious holes – used in numerous Open Championships.”

The group Palestine Action claimed credit for the incident and posted numerous photos of the vandalism.

“Last night’s action comes as a direct response to the US administration’s stated intent to ethnically cleanse Gaza. Having laid out his plans to ‘clean out the whole thing’ and forcibly displace its population, the US President last week published an AI video advertising his plans for the Strip, which included himself and the génocidaire Netanyahu, shirtless, drinking at the ‘Trump Gaza’ resort,” a press release read from the group.

Trump on Tuesday shared a video produced using artificial intelligence (AI) that showcased his proposals for the potential development of the war-torn Gaza Strip, complete with a golden statue of his likeness and beachfront skyscrapers rising from the rubble.

The video featured AI-generated children holding gold balloons made to look like Trump, and a renovated beachfront with luxury hotels and money flying in the air. The video also included a shot of a “Trump Gaza” building and showed Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu enjoying drinks in the sun.

“No more tunnels, no more fear,” a voice in the video sings. “Trump Gaza is finally here. Trump Gaza shining bright, golden future, brand new light.” 

The group said the protest aimed to making “the popular opposition to Trump intentions clear.”

“Palestine Action rejects Donald Trump’s treatment of Gaza as though it were his property to dispose of as he likes. To make that clear, we have shown him that his own property is not safe from acts of resistance. We will continue to take action against US-Israeli colonialism in the Palestinian homeland,” an unnamed spokesperson for the group said in the press release.

The Hill has reached out to the White House for comment.
