Man run over by train.

THIS is the extraordinary moment a sleeping drunk man is run over by a train – and then walks it off.

Juan Carlos Tello, 28, was kipping with his head on the track in Lima, the Peruvian capital, when a train steamed into him on Saturday.

CCTV footage shows Juan reclining on his back – very much in harm’s way.

His head is propped up on one of the track rails – and he is apparently asleep after having one too many.

The first sign of danger is a strong headlight beam illuminating him.

Then suddenly, a huge locomotive moving towards him appears.

The man rouses just in time to yank his head out of the wheel’s path, but is struck heavily by the enormous machine.

The impact throws him sideways and the train trundles over him.

His legs are caught by the underside of the carriage, sending him spinning.

Juan lies motionless in a crumpled heap as the train grinds to a halt.

Amazingly, he then clambers from under the carriage and stumbles to his feet – before collapsing back onto the ground.

A pair of concerned passersby lean over him to check on him, and Juan takes a seat on the curb.

He can be seen shaking his hand desperately in pain.

A picture from after the accident shows the man with a heavily bandaged arm and blood stains on his clothing.

Remarkably, he escaped with only minor injuries to his arm after being taken for treatment at a local hospital.

General Javier Avalos, a local officer, said: “The train knocked him over but through some miracle did not kill him.

“He apparently was in a state of intoxication, fell asleep along the train tracks and did not feel the train coming.”

The cargo train which smashed into Juan had been on its regular route towards the Peruvian Andes mountains.

A tourist in Sri Lanka was less lucky in a train accident just a few weeks ago.

Grandmother Olga Perminova, 53, tragically died when she leaned out of a train to take a selfie on a famous stretch of track.

She smashed her head in the accident, sustaining horrific injuries.

The tourist was captured in a pink dress leaning from the train a mere few moments before the horrific tragedy.
