RFK Jr. must release the truth about Andrew Cuomo's deadly COVID nursing-home order

With Andrew Cuomo now in the race for mayor, local Republicans in Congress are calling for clarity regarding whether the previous governor’s controversial COVID-19 nursing home directive went against federal regulations. The demand is directed at Health Secretary Robert Kennedy to offer insight and information on the matter.

Representative Mike Lawler and others are seeking answers on behalf of families who lost elderly relatives due to what they deem a dangerous decision. The directive in question compelled unprepared nursing homes to take in COVID-positive patients discharged from hospitals, resulting in tragic consequences.

The virus ran wild in the care homes, taking 15,000 lives.

Kennedy, who interestingly happens to be Cuomo’s former brother-in-law, is tasked with clarifying whether the directive issued on March 25, 2020, actually violated federal guidelines, a point that the former governor continues to refute.

Last year, a House subcommittee report concluded that Cuomo’s order was “inconsistent” with and had “arguably contradicted” federal guidance by omitting key, common-sense precautions along the lines of “don’t put contagious people in with vulnerable populations.”

Cuomo’s never owned up to this critical error.

Heck, even when reporters asked him last week what he’d do differently as governor if he could go back in time, he offered only “added more police to the MTA.”

Now that his fellow Democrats can’t cover for him, let’s get the record set straight.

Hold Cuomo accountable for something.
