JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. (WJHL) — A Jonesborough man was charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespass Sunday after allegedly hitting a victim in the head with a chain.
According to a release from the Washington County, Tennessee Sheriff’s Office (WCSO), deputies responded to a reported assault in the 200 block of Dry Creek Road on Saturday.
The WCSO stated the victim told police that Ronnie Kaye Jones came onto their property, which is marked with no trespassing signs.
Jones, 64, then allegedly hit the victim in the back of the head and neck with a chain.
On Sunday morning, Jones was arrested at a home near Rock House Road.
At the time of the arrest, Jones reportedly had a chain in the front pocket of his pants. He then admitted to hitting the victim, the WCSO reported.
Jones was taken to the Washington County Detention Center where he was being held on a $26,000 bond. He has since made bond, according to the WCSO.
Jones is set to appear in court Monday.
