Season nine of The Real Housewives of Potomac recently ended, but if the rumors are true, the ladies will be back in front of the cameras in a matter of weeks.

This means that casting rumors are swirling, and the latest is that Mia Thornton will not be returning to the series. This comes as a social media post claiming to be from her official account has gone viral. The trouble is, there’s no record of the RHOP star posting this. 

Fans of the show will recall that Mia didn’t have the best season. Not only did her castmates struggle to believe her on several occasions, but many viewers also felt her storylines weren’t suited for Housewives and that they exploited her kids and estranged husband. 

Recently, the Instagram account Its_OnSite reported that Mia would be exiting the show. As mentioned, they did so by sharing what appears to be an official announcement from Mia. The outlet captioned the post, “For many #RHOP fans, their prayers have been answered. After much lying and story plotting, #MiaThornton has announced her exit from the show.”

The supposed announcement begins, “After much reflection, I have made the difficult decision to step away from The Real Housewives of Potomac. This journey has been filled with incredible experiences, personal growth, and, of course, its fair share of challenges. However, at this time, my focus needs to be on my family and my mental well-being.”

The letter then says the alleged exit is only a pause. In the end, it also thanks the fans and her fellow cast members. However, as mentioned, this is a false report.

Reality Blurb can confirm that this statement circulating on social media is not real. The statement originated on Twitter on March 8. However, Mia never posted that statement on her official Instagram page or any social media account.

Despite the viral post, Mia has not announced her departure from the series. This doesn’t mean she’s guaranteed to be on the show moving forward, but there is no confirmation about her status as of yet. In the meantime, fans can watch RHOP on Peacock.
