ALYSHA Burney was a popular YouTuber who had earned over 1.2 million followers. 

Sadly, the star passed away in Mexico on March 2, 2025, just a day before her 25th birthday.

Becoming a YouTube star

Alysha rocketed to fame on YouTube, where she regularly posted hilarious short videos. 

She quickly generated a huge following, with many of her videos being viewed over 5 million times. 

One of her most popular video series was named “online classes be like…” where she parodied school lessons on Zoom. 

She also would parody stereotypes of people at work or on their first day of school. 

Alysha had more than 5 million followers across Instagram and TikTok by the time of her death. 

Alysha’s tragic passing

Sadly, Alysha had passed away from an asthma attack in Mexico, on March 2. 

Her 25th birthday was just a day later.

Alysha’s brother Charles broke the news of her death on Instagram. 

He said: “I come with great sadness that my little sister Alysha Burney has passed. Please allow our family time to grieve during this time.

“It is extremely difficult seeing all of the false narratives trying to defame her legacy.”

He later appeared on FOX4 where he addressed rumours about her passing. 

Charles said: “She was a self-loving and happy individual who cherished her life and was looking forward to the upcoming year’s plans. She was in Mexico to celebrate her birthday.

“She was a very classy young woman.”

He added: “There’s a spread of misinformation online, stating different things based on speculation.

“These sources lack credibility and should not be believed. My sister did not engage in environments that would lead to such situations.”

Tributes to Alysha 

Tributes to Alysha flooded the comments section of her brother’s social media post. 

One wrote: “Can’t believe we lost another angel today. like this, better be fake, she actually does no wrong.

“I can’t believe she’s gone, I refuse to believe.”

Charles shared more about his sister’s ambitions on FOX4 News. 

He said:  “Her lifelong goal was to be a writer and a director.

“Another goal she had was to return to Kansas City, open a production studio, and help other young creatives from Kansas City get to where she was.”
