SAVANNAH, Ga. () — A Savannah woman stepped into the national spotlight recently by competing in one of America’s most beloved games shows, Jeopardy.

Emily Johnson, a former Savannah Arts student who now teaches there competed on Jeopardy Tuesday.

She didn’t hesitate on the first question, kicking it off with the correct answer. Johnson went on to get 18 questions correct, including the famous daily double question that she wagered $4,000 on.

spoke to her Tuesday night at a watch party. She told us that it was like a dream come true.

“I started watching with my grandparents Laura and Tommy Wong when we first moved to Savannah when I was like four or five, and I just really have fond memories of watching that with them,” Johnson said. “And throughout my childhood I was really into trivia and learning different knowledge and was lucky to be able to retain a lot of that.”

Even though she didn’t end up winning in this episode, will be rooting for her if she returns to the stage.
