Royal chef says Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have become a 'burden' to King Charles, slams 'pretentious' Netflix series

Celebrated chef Richard Corrigan said he found Meghan Markle’s new Netflix series “a bit pretentious.”

Corrigan, who had prior experience catering for the royal family multiple times, confessed to tuning into the Duchess of Sussex’s show “With Love, Meghan,” but he didn’t find it particularly enjoyable.

“It’s a bit pretentious,” he told the Daily Mail. “I don’t like the pretense. California is all very Hollywood, it’s all very samey — Britain is not like that.”

Corrigan, 61, who runs two popular restaurants in London’s Mayfair area, says the “Suits” alum, 43, and her husband Prince Harry have become a “burden” to cancer-stricken King Charles.

“I don’t think anyone likes people doing cheap TV,” he told the outlet.

“If you’re going to leave [royal life], buy yourself a nice pad and entertain and enjoy yourself, but don’t become a burden.”

Corrigan, who hails from Ireland, sympathized with the situation Charles has been put in following his youngest son’s sensational exit from royal life in 2020.

“You can never be responsible for who your children marry, and you shouldn’t be — they have to make their way in the world,” he said. “The royals are a nice bunch — we all have odd ones in the family.”

It’s not the first time Corrigan has shared his thoughts on the former actress.

He previously revealed that he “cooked for the queen,” adding that the meal was “free of charge, of course.”

“And I’ll cook for anyone, but let me just say, some people will have to pay. I’d let [Markle] in the restaurant, for sure, but the queen had the red carpet rolled out. Would Meghan? I don’t think so,” he added.

Corrigan’s comments come after Markle’s longtime defender, Canadian comedian Katherine Ryan, said the duchess appeared “manicured and very forced” in “With love, Meghan.”

Ryan, 41, who was previously an ardent supporter of the exiled royal, has appeared to change her tune after watching the “Suits” alum’s new 8-part cooking show.

“I liked Meghan Markle. I was rooting for Meghan Markle… though she is very Hollywood – even for me – and I don’t like that in people,” the “Glitter Room” star said on her “Telling Everybody Everything” podcast of the Duchess of Sussex.

“I see now, and maybe it’s just the projects she’s choosing, it does feel like she has lied about whether she knew who Prince Harry was, and these details about her childhood change and don’t add up.”
