The long dead mass shooters at Colorado’s Columbine High School have claimed a 14th victim after the death of Anne Marie Hochhalter, who was found dead in her apartment last month.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office ruled that Hochhalter’s death from medical condition sepsis, with complications from her paralysis caused when she was shot during the April 20, 1999, shooting, “is best classified as homicide,” KUSA said.
Hochhalter’s murderous classmates shot her in the chest and spinal cord, and she spent the rest of her life in a wheelchair. She was 43 when she was found dead on February 16. Twelve other students and one teacher were also killed, and more than 20 people were wounded in the mass attack.
The two teenage killers took their own lives.
As an adult, Hochalter became an advocate for victims of mass violence.
