AN INFLUENCER has tragically died after being swamped with “steaming hot” asphalt in a horror car crash in Mexico.

Travel blogger Elise Caffee, known as “3kidstravel”, suffered severe burns and died in hospital a week after her vehicle was flipped and buried in hot concrete.

Tragedy struck when Elise, 45, had travelled to Cancun, with her husband Dan for a wedding on March 6.

Their vehicle was part of a horror 10-car pileup on a freeway in the popular vacation spot.

The collision became a tragedy when their vehicle was hit by a truck pull of hot asphalt.

This caused their car to flip and and the mom-of-three became trapped under “steaming hot asphalt”, according to a family post.

The driver was also killed in the shocking accident and Dan suffered minor injuries.

Elise was initially rushed to a hospital in Mexico but transported to Salt Lake City, Utah, for crucial treatment at a burns unit.

A post from Elise before her tragic death shared more details about the freak accident.

The post said: “Hospital workers rushed out and immediately started trying to help get people out from under cars as did my Dan, but were getting burned through their protective gloves because the asphalt was so hot.”

The influencer’s family confirmed the tragic news in a heartbreaking Instagram post.

They wrote: “We are absolutely heartbroken to share the news of Elise’s passing tonight. She held on so long and fought so hard against an impossibly difficult set of circumstances.

“Absolutely everything that could have been done for her was done and we are so grateful she was able to make it back home to say good bye to her family before leaving us.

“We believe in eternal families and know we’ll see our beautiful mom, sister, wife, and daughter again.

“We’re so grateful for all the prayers and love that have buoyed us up in the last few days and that we know will continue to in the days ahead.”

Elisehad over 48,000 followers on Instagram and hear heartbroken fans shared their own touching tributes.

One person wrote: “You were such a wonderful mama to those girls and they will be so glad, that you documented all of your time together.

“Rest easy Elise.”

Another follower said: “I can’t believe you are gone, but you’ve left such a strong legacy for your girls.”
