Canadians are calling for authorities in The Land of the Maple Leaf to hit Americans where it hurts most – and ban Pornhub.

The Canadian-owned X-rated pornography website receives about 40 percent of its traffic from the United States, as indicated in its most recent annual report.

As the trade war between the US and Canada continues on, those over the northern border are calling for the drastic measure. 

One of those includes Matthew Puzhitsky, who shared a now viral video to his Instagram in which he called for the site to be pulled in the US.

In his clip, Puzhitsky referred to the idea as Canada’s secret ‘nuke’ and hilariously deemed it a ‘mic drop’ moment. 

Speaking with The New York Post, he added: ‘If Canada could ban Pornhub in the states, we win the trade war. That’s it. There is no trade war.’

Since the video was shared online, a petition calling for Canadian authorities to block Pornhub in the states was also published online. 

It has yet to gather any real steam online, receiving only 52 signatures as of Saturday morning.

According to the site, “The ongoing trade tensions between Canada and the United States have had repercussions across different industries, and we are suggesting a fresh strategy to address these issues.

“This appeal calls upon the Canadian Federal government to pass laws that would limit access to Pornhub’s services, particularly its adult content streaming, from within the United States.”

Marc Olimpo, from Toronto, launched the petition and told the outlet that Canadians are fired up about the trade war, saying: ‘That’s all anyone is talking about.’

Tens of millions on Americans are already without access to the site amid an ongoing fight over privacy laws. 

Its parent company Aylo has blocked people in 16 states from visiting the adult state due to a new age-verification law.  

The 16 states recently began requiring users provide state-approved identification, such as a passport or driver’s license, to prove they are over 18 to access content.

States first started introducing the legislation in 2023 due to growing political concerns over minors viewing inappropriate online material.

But Pornhub and other critics argue that the age verification requirement violates user privacy and puts their personal data at risk. 

The states where Pornhub is blocked are: Montana, Idaho, Utah, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, Indiana, Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Alabama, Virginia, North and South Carolina and Florida. 

Newly appointed Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has already issued a withering takedown on President Trump over the ongoing trade dispute.

The 59-year-old leader made it clear that he intends to continue down former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s path of public spats with the US leader.

He accused Trump of ‘trying to weaken our economy’ in his speech to a raucous room full of Liberal party voters.

‘Donald Trump, as we know, has put unjustified tariffs on what we build, on what we sell, on how we make a living,’ he said.

‘He’s attacking Canadian workers, families and businesses. We cannot let him succeed. And we won’t.’

Trump has repeatedly touted his ambition to annex Canada, referring to Trudeau as ‘Governor Trudeau’ and the nation as America’s ’51st state.’

On Wednesday, the country then announced $21 billion in new tariffs in an effort to target the importing of US computers and sports gear. 

It is the latest escalation of the increasingly bitter and costly trade war engulfing Washington and Ottawa. 

Canada folded to Trump on Tuesday after he vowed the nation would pay a historically big ‘financial price’ for the electricity tariff it was imposing on parts of the U.S. 

Ontario Premier Doug Ford reversed course and said he would cancel the 25 percent tariff on Canadian electricity supplied to northern states of Michigan, New York and Minnesota. 

Trump agreed, after Canada backed down, not to double tariffs on Canadian steel and aluminum to 50 percent, meaning they will stay at 25 percent. 

Trump’s trade war and his talk of making Canada the 51st state infuriated Canadians, who have been booing the US national anthem at NHL and NBA games.

Some are canceling trips south of the border, and many are avoiding buying American goods when they can.
