Democratic insiders complain Kamala Harris is ‘MIA’ after election: ‘Not the leadership the world needs’

It’s a game of political hide and seek.

Democratic insiders are still stinging from losing the election to Donald Trump — and view Kamala Harris as a political “Where’s Waldo” who’s gone “MIA,” they say.

“She’s MIA!” groused one Democratic insider to Page Six of Harris.

The political source added Harris’ husband “Doug [Emhoff] is telling people she’s the leader of the party, but there is a clear lack of leadership.”

“The person you just spent $2 billion on trying to elect? I’m glad she’s having a good time going to a musical, and being repped by CAA,” said the insider, but, “this whole strategy of ‘do not do anything, or say anything,’ that’s not the kind of leadership the world needs right now.”

Last month Harris signed with CAA, and saw “A Wonderful World” and “Gypsy” on Broadway.

(Another source told us of Harris, and Joe Biden who’s also repped by the Hollywood power agency, “I don’t think bookings for them are through the roof.”)

The first source said they’re not a fan of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, who just launched a podcast, but, “at least he’s out there doing stuff.” With Harris, “It shows how kind of old the thinking is. Like, ‘Well I’m not going to run [for governor] for a year and a half, so I’ll go away.”

The source said, “One of her problems is that she’s the most risk-averse person on the planet. That’s one of the reasons she lost,” including too few interviews. “There was nothing to peel the onion back for people.”

A new Telegraph opinion piece said of the election, “Another failure was Kamala Harris’ avoidance of new media forms,” and, a donor groused to the San Francisco Standard, “This was such a gut punch of an election for so many Democratic donors — not to mention an expensive gut punch. A number of the people I’ve talked to were just like, ‘What the f–k did I burn all that money for?’”

But a source familiar with the veep points out she appeared at the NAACP Image Awards, is fund-raising for the DNC and talking to federal and state leaders.

“She’s talking to folks, not running around trying to get press,” said the insider, adding that followers are “eager to support her and they’re giving her space” to make her next move.
