A man has been charged for allegedly assaulting a man with a disability and indecently assaulting a woman while she was asleep during a break-in in Alice Springs.

Police were called to Kilgariff about 6.20am yesterday over reports of an unlawful entry.

A man allegedly entered the home and assaulted a man with a disability.

He then allegedly indecently assaulted a woman while she was asleep and woke her up.

She screamed and the man allegedly ran out of the house.

A short time later, police arrested a 24-year-old man near Len Kittle Drive.

He was charged today with aggravated assault, indecent touching or act and burglary.

The man was remanded in custody and will appear at Alice Springs Local Court today.
